Congress leader among four   booked for assaulting co-village

 

NAKODAR

The Nakodar Sadar police have booked four persons including a congress leader and a woman on the charge of assaulting co-village.

Investigating officer (IO) Nirmal Singh said that the accused have been identified as Gurmukh Singh alias Happy Sandhu (Congress leader and Truck Union president) a resident of Talwandi Salem village, Manjinder Singh a resident of the same village Shiv Kumar a resident of Chamiara village under Maqsuadan village and his sister Puja Ranni.

 

Inderjit Sharma a resident of Talwani Salem village complained to the police that Puja Ranni is his wife with whom his relationship is constrained and under investigation by the police.

He said in his complaint that on February 4 Manjinder Singh former Sarapach phoned him and asked him to reach Sandhu's farmhouse where he was forced to compromise with his wife, but he refused and all four used abusive language against him and Sandhu threatened him with dire consequences.

 

 IO said that a case under sections 323(voluntarily causing hurt) 341(wrongful restraint) 506(criminal intimidation) and 34(committing crime with common intention) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
