Punjab government committed to providing city-like facilities in villages- Balkar Singh

Punjab Local Bodies Minister Balkar Singh today said that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann was committed to providing city-like facilities even in rural areas and the government has no dearth of funds for development. The Minister was chairing a meeting with the officials of different departments here at Kartarpur Improvement Trust to review the pace of ongoing development works of the assembly segment. 
 
Mr. Singh reviewed the ongoing development works related to the Panchayat Department, Local Bodies Department, and Power Com, among others.  He issued directions to the Powercom officials to complete various ongoing works in the circle within the stipulated time and said that any kind of delay in these works will be highly unwarranted. He asked the officials that before the onset of the summer season, all the maintenance-related works in the entire area should be completed so that no consumer has to face any problems.  During this, he also interacted with the Panchayats of the area present here and said that the Punjab Government is releasing equal funds for development works to all the Panchayats without any discrimination.
 
Meanwhile, he also reviewed the suvidha camps being organized by the Punjab Government under the Aap Di Sarkar Aap De Dwar scheme.  He told the officials that the objective of this scheme is to provide all the citizen services to the people near their homes, hence there should not be any negligence in this task.  He said that these camps are getting huge support from the people, where many people are participating in the camps and availing the benefits of government services related to various departments on the spot.
