The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested two gangsters on the charge of murdering prominent Kabaddi player Sandeep Singh.
Station House Officer (SHO) Jai Pal said that the accused have been identified as Harjit Harry son of Gurmej Singh a resident of Mourr Kalan village in Bathinda district and Ravinder alias Hairy alias Gattu alias Harwinder Singh son of Pritam Singh alias Bhola a resident of Gopal Pur village in Patiala district
Angrej Singh son of Swaran Singh a resident of Nangal Ambian village under Shahkot police station had complained to the police that his brother Sandeep Singh a prominent Kabaddi player had come to Mallian Kalan village with his team to participate in a tournament on March 14, 2022
He had said in his complaint that around 6 P.M five unidentified car-borne armed accused discriminately fired at his brother who fell on the ground bleeding profusely and the accused again fired some gunshots at his brother who succumbed to his injuries in a clinic adding the accused opened fire while fleeing and injured two persons.
The station house officer Jai Pal said that a case under sections 302(murder) 307(attempt to murder )120-B (criminal conspiracy,148 and 149(rioting) 212 (harboring offender).216(harboring offender who has escaped from custody or whose apprehension has been ordered) of the IPC and sections. 25/27/54/59 of the Arms Act was registered against the accused.
