 Punjab Local Government Minister Balkar Singh on Tuesday said that the 'Aap Di Sarkar, Aap De Duar' initiative of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann will prove to be immensely beneficial and a game-changer in providing citizen services to the people at doorsteps as it will not only ensure quick resolutions to their issues but also save their valuable time.

The minister also handed over documents to visitors after their applications were approved on the spot by the authorities concerned.
 
The Minister was visiting the camp here at village Hirapur, Vakhu Nangal, Pahra, and Nandanpur wherein he interacted with the people to collect their feedback about this unique initiative.

Addressing the gathering, the Cabinet Minister said that the purpose of these camps is to help people get citizen services near their homes smoothly.  He further mentioned that these camps aimed at providing benefits of a large number of citizen services under one roof and to ensure early resolution of people’s grievances by listening to the difficulties faced by them.
 
He also said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan led state government is committed to provide uninterrupted and timely citizen services to the people of the state, for which several initiatives have been taken by the government.  He said that under this unique initiative, the administration is reaching out to the streets/neighbourhoods across the state to provide the benefits of services to the people besides ensuring the resolution of their problems.
 
He stated that the state government is committed to providing uninterrupted and timely citizen services to the people of the state, for which several initiatives have been taken by the government. He mentioned that under 'Aap Di Sarkar, Aap De Duar' initiative, the government had launched a helpline number 1076 where people can get the benefit of government services at their doorsteps. 

This initiative has received an overwhelming response as a large number of people have come forward for the doorstep delivery of citizen services in the state.

The minister said that these camps will be held across the state for about a month wherein people can take benefit of various services including birth certificates, income certificates, scholarships, residence certificates, caste certificates, old age, disabled and dependent pensions, change of name in the birth certificate, payment of electricity bills, verification of revenue department records, marriage registration, multiple copies of the death certificate, besides others.
 
During the camp, visitors also lauded the Punjab Government’s endeavour to further improve citizen service delivery. 

Davinder Singh, a resident of Hirapur Village thanked the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for this unique initiative to provide citizen services at doorsteps. Sharing his experience in the camp, he stated that his work related to a government department was done on-the-spot in this camp. Like Davinder, a large number of people availed the benefit of these camps.
 
Similarly, Surjit Singh mentioned that he had visited the camp for work related to the social security department which was completed by the officials present in the camp. He termed these camps a path-breaking initiative to provide citizen services in a smooth and hassle-free manner. Earlier, the Minister announced a grant worth Rs. 3.50 lakh for the construction of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Bhawan in Hirapur village.
