The Bilga police have busted a gang of thieves engaged in stealing farmers’ transformers and arrested its three members.
Station House Officer (SHO) Lakhvir Singh said that the accused have been identified as Dilbag Singh alias Kaka son of Sukhdev Singh a resident of Pati Bhati Bilga village and Gurpal Singh alias Patli son of Balwinder Singh a resident of Nagal Gate village under Phillaur police station and Amandeep Singh son of Resham Singh a resident of Aujla village who is absconding.
Bakhtawar Singh a resident of Meon Wal village complained to the police that the accused and their accomplice stole a transformer from his field on January 28 night.
SHO said that a case under sections 379 (theft) and 34 (committing a crime with common intention) of the IPC has been registered against the accused and recovered from their possession 50 feet of cable, three empty transformers’ boxes, and 50 feet of brass cable.
