To save the precious lives of persons injured in road accidents, as many as 41 hospitals have been listed in Jalandhar district for their treatment under the 'Farishte' scheme launched by the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Mann .
Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal said that under this scheme, free-of-cost treatment facilities will be provided to the accident victims at nearby government hospitals and listed private hospitals by making maximum use of the 'Golden Hour' during road accidents so that their precious lives can be saved.
He also said that the first hour after an accident is very crucial for treatment, during which if a seriously injured person receives primary aid, the chances of their survival increase. Mr. Sarangal mentioned that under this scheme, a total of 41 hospitals including 15 government, 25 private hospitals, and one medical college have been listed in the district.
He further informed that under this scheme, the hospitals registered with the government, which will treat the accident victims, will be compensated according to the package rates. He also informed that the state health agency has identified 52 packages for the treatment of road accident victims.
The Deputy Commissioner also stated that the person who takes the road accident victim to the hospital for treatment will also be honoured by the government with an amount of up to Rs. 2000. Likewise, the person who brings the accident victims to the hospital will not be questioned unless he wished to become an eyewitness of the incident. He also said that to get benefits under the scheme, it is mandatory to inform the police about the incident.
Pointing out further about the listed hospitals in the district, Deputy Medical Commissioner Jyoti Sharma said that the list includes District Hospital Jalandhar, SDH Phillaur, SDH Nakodar, CHC Adampur, CHC Apra, CHC Bara pind, CHC Kala Bakra, CHC Lohian Khas, CHC Shankar, CSC Shahkot, CSC PAP, CHC Bundala, CHC Nurmahal, CHC Kartarpur, CHC Basti Gujan, PIMS, Maan Medicity Hospital, Arman Hospital, Sarvodaya Hospital, Global Hospital, New Ruby Hospital, H.P. Orthocare, Tagore Hospital, Innocent Heart, Sharanjit Hospital, Kapoor Bone and Children Hospital, Kamal Multispecialty Hospital, Shamsher Oncology, Dang Hospital, J.A.P. Hospital, DMC Hospital and Trauma Center, Kamal Hospital Nakodar, Ganga Orthocare, Doaba Hospital, Orthonova Joint and Trauma Hospital, Amar Hospital, Smt. Savitri Memorial Miglani Hospital, Makkar Hospital, Armaan Hospital, Rattan Hospital and Center Hospital and Maternity Home.
