Punjab Local Bodies Minister. Balkar Singh today said that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will celebrate the forthcoming event of Parkash Purab of Shri Guru Ravidas ji on February 24.
Chairing a review meeting with the district administration concerning preparedness for the event, the Minister said that no stone should be left unturned to celebrate this event with full devotion and fervour.
Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jalandhar Gautam Jain, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jasbir Singh, and Additional Commissioner MCJ Amarjit Bains, the minister further mentioned that special focus to be laid on cleanliness in the city so that devotees do not face any problem during the event.
The minister also said that the requisite arrangements to be ensured by the officials as top priority. He asked every concerned officer to make sure that their staff performs the duty diligently for smooth conduct of affairs during the celebrations.
The Minister said that it would be a significant event as it spreads the message of divinity, communal harmony, peace, universal brotherhood, and compassion as preached by Guru Ravidas Ji through his all-pervasive philosophy, life, and works. He also said that the life and philosophy of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji continue to guide humanity towards an egalitarian society. He further directed the Municipal Corporation Jalandhar to ensure proper cleanliness in the city, especially around the venue of this mega event.
