The Shahkot police have busted a gang of thieves and arrested its three members on the charge of committing thefts in areas.
Investigating officer (IO) Puran Singh said that the accused have been identified as Vijay alias Jhingarr son of Bindu alias Nelo and Ashnukh Masih alias Amli son of Aijak Masih residents of Bagga village and, Gagan Deep alias Gagu son of Satpal a resident of Fajal Pur village.
Amarjit Singh a resident of Fajal Pur village complained to the police that the accused and their accomplices barged into his shop on 29 January night and decamped away with a welding set.
IO said a case under sections 457(lurking house-trespass) and 380(theft in dwelling house) of the IPC has been registered against the accused and their three accomplices identified as Jeeta of Bhadma village, Lakhi of Ram Pur village and Sukha a resident of Bagga village who are absconding.
