NAKODAR
Nakodar police have deployed a special police force during night hours to check increasing incidents of thefts in the town.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kulwinder Singh Virk disclosed this to media persons in his first meeting after assuming charge saying that this special force has been provided on the direction of the Senior Superintendent of Police.
Virk said that an inter-state gang of thieves is active in Punjab which is under investigation.
He said people should think of introducing the Chowkidar system in their areas.
DSP said special steps are being taken to improve the traffic system in the town and a strategy would be outlined for this purpose after discussions with all concerned officials.
Virk said strict action would be taken against drug peddlers and criminal elements and sought residents' cooperation in curbing crime.
