The Shahkot police have booked eight persons on the charge of assaulting a villager and rioting.
Investigating officer Kashmir said that the accused have been identified as Satvarg of Akbar Pur Kalan village,Billu of Mehat Pur,Kalu, and Ekam residents of Udho Wal village, and their three unidentified accomplices.
Lovpreet a resident of Parjian Khurd village complained to the police that the accused assaulted him and his colleagues on January 27.
IO said that a case under section 323,324 (voluntarily causing
hurt with dangerous weapons or means), 148 and 149(rioting) of the IPC have been registered against the accused.
