The Lohian Khas police have booked three persons on the charges of attempt to murder and firing.
Investigating officer (IO) Kashmir Singh said that the accused have been identified as Akash Deep son of Jarnail Singh and Sukhpreet Singh alias Sukh son of Swaran Singh residents of Nihaluwal village, Gurbakash Singh alias Juj son of Sukhdev Singh a resident of Seche Wal village.
Rahul Chawla a resident of Nihalu Wal village complained to the police that he was going to stroll on his village grounds on January 30 evening when the accused riding a motorcycle came there and accused Sukh held his neck and fired from his pistol which pierced his abdomen and tried to fire again but failed.
Rahul said after this second accused Gurbakash also pointed his pistol at him to fire by the raised an alarm and asked people to save him, but the accused fled away.
He said his father and brother rushed him to Nakodar civil hospital from where he was referred to Jalandhar civil hospital.
IO said a case under sections 307(attempt to murder) and 34(committing crime with common intention) of the IPC and section 25/54/59 of the Arms Act has been registered against the accused.
