The Shahkot police have charged Gurpreet Singh
a resident of Punia village, his father Surinder Pal Singh, and mother Parveen Latta
Kaur with dowry harassment.
Hardeep Kaur wife Gurpreet Singh complained to
the police that she had been tortured for dowry ever since her marriage.
Investigating Officer Kashmir Singh said a case under sections 406(breach of trust) and 498-A (torturing woman for dowry) has been registered
against the accused after an inquiry.
