NAKODAR
The Mehat Pur police have booked 33 persons on the charge of assault, criminal intimidation, and rioting.
Investigating officer (IO)Jaswinder Singh said that the accused have been identified as Dilbag Singh alias Bagi son of Joginder Singh a resident of Vehran village and his 32 unidentified accomplices.
Sukhwinder Singh a resident of Mundian Kalan village in Ludhiana complained to the police that the accused that the accused waylaid him and his colleagues in the village and assaulted and threatened him.
IO said a case under sections 323(voluntarily causing hurt )341(wrongful restraint),506(criminal intimidation) and 148 and 149(rioting) of the IPC has been registered against the accused. No arrests have been made.
The police also booked three persons for assaulting Manjit Singh of Mehat Pur, said IO Balwinder Singh.
