The Nakodar city police have arrested a Mehat Pur miscreant and booked his accomplice on the charge of snatching a woman's purse.
Investigating officer (IO) Rajinder Pal Singh said that the accused has been identified as Sukhdeep Bawa Rahul son of Raman Kumar a resident of Mohalla Khuram Pur Mehat Pur.
Baljinder Kaur' wife Harjinder Singh a resident of Mohalla Gahrriyan, Nakodar complained to the police that she was traveling with her husband on a scooter on January 27 evening when the accused and his accomplice riding a motorcycle snatched her purse near a flyover turn on the Nakodar Jalandhar road.
She said in her complaint that the purse contained Rs2000 gold and silver ornaments and documents.
IO said that a case under sections 379-B (snatching) and 34 (committing the crime with common intention) of the IPC had been registered against the accused and his accomplice identified as Vishal alias Chuha a resident of Mohalla Khuram Pur Mehat Pur.
