The Mehat Pur police have arrested two drug peddlers on the charge of selling intoxicant poppy husk. Investigating officer (IO) Balwinder Singh said that 20 kilograms of poppy husk and Rs 78,000 drug money were recovered from the possession of the accused identified as Gurmit Singh alias Mita son of Surat Singh and Sarabjit Singh alias Saba son of Balvir Singh resident of Umre Wal village.
IO said a case under section 15 (B) /61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused and impounded a vehicle in which they were traveling with the contraband.
The Shahkot police arrested a woman drug peddler Manju wife of Ajay a resident of Mohalla Dhorra, Shahkot with 3 grams of heroin said investigating officer Lakhbir Singh.
