The Bilga police have arrested a couple on the charge of dowry harassment.
Investigating officer (IO) Avtar Lal said that the accused has been identified as Bhajan Singh a resident of Gorsian Nihal village and his wife Surinder Kaur.
Jaspreet Kaur daughter of Dilawar Singh a resident of Burj Kela village had complained to the police that she had been tortured by her in-laws for dowry ever since her marriage.
Investigating officer Avtar Lal said a case under section 406(breach of trust) and 498-A9torturing woman for dowry) was registered against the accused and their son GaganDeep Singh who is still absconding.
