The Jalandhar (rural) police have arrested a Jalandhar resident on the charge of raping and murdering a woman.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) M.S. Bhullar said that the accused has been identified as the Prince son of Bhajan Singh a resident of Rajput Nagar, Model House, Jalandhar.
SSP said that the accused had raped and murdered Shama daughter of Sabi Masih a resident of Dole Wal under Kotli Surat Mali police station Gurdas Pur.
SSP said that the accused had thrown the boy of the deceased on the link road from Gadowali to Tararr village on December 25 after committing the crime and Kuldeep Singh former Sarpanch of Tararr village had informed the Lambrra police station.
SSP said that Lambrra Station House Officer Jatinder Kumar had registered a case under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (disappearing proof of crime) of the IPC was registered and section 376 (rape) of the IPC was added to the FIR during the investigation.
