Three unidentified booked for snatching cash from two petrol pumps

 

NAKODAR

The Nakodar Sadar police have booked three unidentified miscreants on the charge of snatching cash from two petrol pumps.

Sanjiv Gupta a resident of New GTB Nagar Jalandhar complained to the police that he is the owner of the Highway patrol pump in Kang Sahibu village and was sitting in his office on January 19 late evening with his son and salesman when three unidentified miscreants with masked faces and armed with firearms and sharp-edged weapon barged into the office and snatched Rs 1.67000 from him at pistol point and fled away on a motorcycle toward Jalandhar side.

Varun Sharma also complained to the police that four motorcycle-borne miscreants came to his petrol pump at Kullar village on January 19 afternoon and snatched a cash bag from the salesman at a pistol point.   

Station House Officer Yadwinder Singh said that a case under sections 379-B (snatching) and 34(committing crime with common intention) of the IPC and section 25 of the Arms Act has been registered against the unidentified accused and further investigations are on.

 

These two incidents of looting have created a sense of fear and insecurity among residents and have put a question mark on police patrolling.
