 Two drug peddlers arrested with 3 kg heroin


NAKODAR

 The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested two drug peddlers on the charge of selling heroin and recovered a huge quantity of drug and drug money.

Nakodar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sukhpal Singh and Station House Officer (SHO) Yadwinder   Singh told media that 2 kilograms and 500 grams and 502 grams of heroin were recovered from the possession of the accused identified as Gurjit Singh son of Charanjit Singh a resident of Mehnnwa village under Sadar Kapurthala police station and Jagdev Singh son of Narinder Singh a resident of Mohala Azad Nagar Nakodar and Rs 78 000 drug money and 4 mobile phones were also recovered from their possession.

SHO said that a case under section 21(C )61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused and impounded a bullet motorcycle on which they were traveling with the contraband adding that the accused Gurjit Singh is a notorious peddler, and a case is pending against him in city Kapurthala police station in which he was declared a proclaimed officer.  

 

SHO said Gurjit’s maternal uncle Rakesh alias Kesha of Mehat Pur was recently arrested with 5.5 kg heroin.
