The Mehat Pur police have charged Lovpreet Singh a resident of Bhundiyan village under the Bhog Pur police station with dowry harassment.
Lovepreet ‘s wife Sonai a resident of Mohalla Dhangara , Mehat Pur complained to Jalandhar SSP(rural) that she was being tortured for
dowry ever since her marriage 6 months ago and started beating her as he developed illicit relations with another woman.
Investigating Officer Davinder Singh said a case
under section 498-A (torturing woman for dowry) had been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
