The Lohian Khas police have arrested a Feroze Pur villager on charges of rash driving on the public road and causing death by negligence and mischief.
Investigating officer (IO) Avtar Singh said that the accused has been identified as Mukhtiar Singh son of Teja Singh a resident of Sadar Dina Wal, Tibbi Khurd village under Mamdott police station Feroze Pur.
Lovpreet Singh a resident of Tawandi Chaudarian village in Kapurthala had complained to the police that his maternal uncle Manga Ram a resident of Farid Sarai village under Sultan Pur Lodhi police station was returning home from Lohian Khas on January 13 when the accused fast-running car (DL-10-CD-5153) hit his motorcycle near the railway station and killed him and injured his relative seriously.
.IO said a case under sections 279(rash driving on a public road), 304-A (causing death by negligence) 337,338(grievous hurt to any person by doing any act so rashly or negligently as to endanger human life, or the personal safety of others,) and 427(mischief)of the IPC was registered against the accused.
