Regulator at Simbli village completed to release 200 cusecs water in Chitti Bein:Seechewal

Rajya Sabha Member Sant Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal has said that the regulator work has been completed at the cost of Rs. 1.19 crore at village Simbli of Hoshiarpur district to release 200 cusecs of water in Chitti Bein, with which the Bein will flow uninterruptedly.

With the aim of completing the remaining necessary process as soon as possible, Rajya Sabha Member today held a meeting with the administrative officials, irrigation and drainage officials from Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur and Nawanshahr districts.

The MP said that the foundation stone of this regulator with a cost of 1.19 crore rupees was laid by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on May 8, 2023 which was completed.

He asked the officials to speed up the cleaning of the 3 KM long drain to bring the water from the regulator to the drain smoothly so that there was no obstruction in the flow of water.

Seechewal also said that continuous release of water in the Chitti Bein will not only help in maintaining the water level in the entire Doaba region but will also help in preventing diseases caused by the dirty water in the Bein.

On this occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner General Amit Mahajan, S.E. GS Sandhu, Executive Engineers Babal Sharma, Damandeep Singh, SDO Jaswinder Pal and Pawan Kumar were present.
