The Nurmahal police have booked Chetan Arora a resident of Tulsi Nagar Hoshiar Pur, his father Om Parkash Arora, and brother Amit Arora for torturing a woman for dowry.
The complainant, Shruti daughter of Inderjit a resident of Mohalla Lakhan Pal, Nurmahal complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police that her husband and his parents had been demanding dowry ever since her marriage.
Investigating officer Gursharan Singh said that a case under 406((breach of trust) and 498-A (husband or relative of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) of the IPC has been registered against the accused after an inquiry and further investigations are on.
