Moga villager booked for attacking police official

 

SHAHKOT

The Shahkot police have booked a Moga village resident on charges of attacking a police official.

Investigating Officer (IO) Balvir Chand said that the accused has been identified as Gursewak Singh son of Ajaib Singh a resident of Data village under Mehanna police station, Moga.

IO said that assistant sub-inspector Surjit Singh said in his statement to the police that he was performing his duty at high-tech Naka Kanwan Wala Patann on January 10 when the accused 307(driving his car negligently from Dharam Kot side hit him to kill and obstructed him from performing his duty. 

 

IO said that a case under sections 307(attempt to murder), 353(assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) 186(obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions.), and 279(rash driving on public road) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused.
