In a major breakthrough, Anti Gangster Task Force, Punjab in a joint operation with Central agencies has arrested Kailash Khichan, a key operative of Pak based terrorist Harvinder Singh @ Rinda & #USA based Harpreet Singh @ Happy Passia.The arrested accused has a criminal history with number of criminal cases such as Extortion, NDPS Act , Arms Act registered against him in Rajasthan and Punjab," DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav has posted on X today.
According to the DGP, he was also wanted in Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act registered in Fazilka in Sept'23 .The preliminary interrogation has revealed that the accused Khichan, on the directions of terrorist Rinda, was supplying weapons to the associates of terrorist outfit Babbar Khalistan International (BKI) to carry out sensational crimes in the State. The police have claimed to have recovered one Chinese pistol & 08 live cartridges.
The DGP reiterated that the PunjabPolice is fully committed to destroying the organised criminal network as per directions of CM @BhagwantMann.
Who Is Harvinder Singh Rinda
Harvinder Singh Rinda was first operational as a gang lord in Maharashtra and then he allegedly went to Pakistan and became a Khalistan activist. There were also unconfirmed reports that Rinda had died some time ago in Pakistan. Rinda is believed to be an activist of Babbar Khalsa International outfit.
