Patient facilitation centers in all government hospitals – Health Minister

JALANDHAR

The government hospitals of Punjab soon will have patient facilitation centers to assist and guide the patients.

After reviewing health services in the Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Civil Hospital, Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh accompanied by Rajya Sabha MPs Sant Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal, Ashok Mittal, and Lok Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Rinku, said that these centers would be established in all government hospitals for the convenience of the patients.

He said that these centers would have proper seating capacity and the staff of these facilitation centers would furnish credible information to the patients about the doctors as per their needs.

He said that the staff would also take the patients especially ailing and old-aged to the doctors’ rooms themselves.
Singh said that the patients visiting the government health institutions must not suffer any kind of problem in availing the treatment and their utmost satisfaction must be accorded top priority. He said that over 98 % of patients were completely satisfied with the services offered in Aam Aadmi Clinics (AACs) and the same must be replicated in the hospitals.

In another major decision to make the drug dependents self-reliant, the Health Minister said that they must be enrolled in skill-development courses to wean away them from drugs. He said that skill development courses would make them employable so that they don’t fall prey to drugs again.

He said that drug dependents would be provided with various job opportunities after completion of the skill development course so that they could earn a livelihood like others.

Singh said ‘Sehatmand Mission Punjab’ had been launched for the face-lifting of all the government hospitals across the state and funds were being issued for revamping of the infrastructure.

He said that directions were issued to ensure the availability of ultrasound-ray machines, and medicines in all district, sub-divisional, and community health centers.

Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included  ADC Major Dr. Amit Mahajan, Civil Surgeon Dr. Jagdeep Chawla, Medical Superintendent Dr Geeta, and AAP leader  Surinder Singh Sodhi and others.
