The Shahkot police have booked sixteen persons on the charge of outraging women’s modesty.
Investigating Officer (IO) Puran Singh said that the accused have been identified as Surjit Singh son of Satnam Singh a resident of Chak Bahmannia, his brothers Kulwinder Singh and Harjinder Singh, and their thirteen unidentified accomplices
Sachin Sharma a native of UP and presently living at Chak Bahmannia Toll Plaza complained to the police the accused used abusive language against him and his female colleagues assaulted him on January 6 late and threatened them with dire consequences.
IO said that a case under section 354 -A (making sexually coloured remarks,),323(voluntarily causing hurt)506(criminal intimidation), and 148 and 149(routing) of the IPC has been registered against the accused. No arrests have been made and raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused.
