The Regional Transport Office (RTO) has been laying special emphasis on the expeditious clearance of pendency about driving licenses, RCs, fitness certificates, and others.
Giving further information, Regional Transport Officer Aditya Gupta said that the accountability of every office employee had been fixed and they were directed to ensure people do not face any kind of problem while availing service in the office.
Gupta said that since he assumed charge here on December 6 last year, files of 5330 driving licenses and 3964 RCs had been cleared. An amount of Rs 24.18 crore has been collected as Motor Vehicle tax.
Gupta also added that fitness and passing certificates were also issued to 777 commercial vehicles and Rs 21.6 lakh has been collected as challans' fine. He reiterated the commitment of the Punjab government to ensure hassle-free and smooth services to the people.
