The Lohian Khas police have arrested Narinder Singh alias Naresh son of Dharm Chand a resident of Balmik Mohalla, ward no 7 , Lohian Khas for forcing his wife to commit suicide.
Investigating officer (IO) assistant sub-inspector Kashmir Singh said that the police had received a piece of information that Sujan Bala a resident of the same locality had ended her life by strangulating herself and the police-initiated proceedings under section 174 of the Cr. P.C. on a statement from the sister of the deceased Nargis on July 16, 2023.
IO said that Nargis has recorded her additional statement later.
Kashmir Singh said that during the investigation it came to light that the deceased and her husband always quarreled with each other as she could not give birth to a child her father and mother had expired, and she was living in depression.
IO said that a case under section 306(abetting suicide) of the IPC was registered against the accused on the statement of Nargis.
