The ambitious program of the Punjab government “ Sarkar- Tuhade Dwaar’ has evoked a positive response from the residents with 241 of them receiving various kinds of government services at their doorsteps by dialling the 1076 helpline.
A total of 358 appointments were booked since the start of the 1076 helpline on December 10, 2023, of which services were delivered to nearly 67 % of residents. The services for the remaining applicants are under process and will be delivered within the given time frame.
Presiding over a meeting with the officials and Sewa Kendra management, the Deputy Commissioner asked them to further strengthen the mechanism of appointment booking and delivering the services to ensure every applicant is satisfied.
He said that though the figures were admirable but this needed to be taken to 100 percent. He said that more staff was being recruited by the government for the effective functioning of the helpline.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the citizens could avail the service by calling ‘1076’ and schedule an appointment as per their convenience.
He said that citizens would be informed of the documents required, fees, and others for the service to be availed adding that citizens would receive an SMS with the list of documents required and day/ time of appointment.
He said that specially trained personnel ‘Seva Sahayak’ would visit them at a fixed day/time with tablets and complete the necessary paperwork. The Seva Sahayak will collect fees and give an acknowledgment receipt with which the Citizen can track his application.
