Lok Sabha Member (MP)Sushil Kumar Rinku on Tuesday inaugurated the project of sewing 10,000 uniforms for the students of government schools in this cluster under the PEHAL initiative here at cluster level federation of Pehal Aajeevika Hosiery in Adampur.
Addressing the gathering the MP said that skill is the only art through which any person can write their destiny. Therefore, more and more people, especially women, should pay special attention to skill development to become self-reliant in their lives.
He said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwan Singh Mann is making every possible effort to make women self-reliant. Under this, the center was opened in Adampur, wherein land was provided by the Gram Panchayat and funds for machinery, etc. were released by the Punjab Government.
He also said that this center has got a project to prepare 10,000 uniforms for the students of government schools. He expressed hope that with their hard work and dedication all the women here will complete this project on time and get an even bigger project next time.
MP Rinku further said that about 1400 self-help groups are running in the district, through which more than 14000 women are continuously working hard to become self-reliant. He said that several programs are being run by the district administration to make women skilled, hence they should go ahead and take advantage of all these schemes and programs.
On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jasbir Singh, Deputy CEO Zilla Parishad Jinat Khaira, AAP leader Jeet Lal Bhatti and other officials were present.
