Aam Aadmi Party MP. Harbhajan Singh has given a grant of Rs 15.60 lakh from his MPLAD fund to purchase new modern machinery for the gymnasium being built at Raizada Hansraj Badminton Stadium. MP S. Harbhajan Singh handed the letter regarding this grant to District Badminton Association Secretary and former national player Mr. Ritin Khanna on Tuesday.
Giving information about this, Mr. Ritin Khanna said that DBA was short of funds to purchase new machinery for the gymnasium. In this regard, a grant request was made to MP Harbhajan Singh. Harbhajan Singh has an old association with Hansraj Badminton Stadium. In the early days of his career, he used to come here to play badminton and for his fitness training. Mr. Khanna said that Mr. Harbhajan Singh immediately accepted our request and instructed the concern to send the grant to the PWD department from his MPLADS. Now this grant will fund the stadium's new gymnasium with world-class equipment including a treadmill, cross trainer, bicycle, cable cross, and a variety of machinery.
Khanna said this machinery will be of great benefit to the players because weight training is very important for badminton players and in the absence of proper machinery, the players could not train well.
