The Bilga police have arrested a thief on the charge of stealing steel rods.
Investigating Officer (IO) Satpal said that the accused has been identified as Ravi Kumar alias Ravi son of Surjan Singh a resident of Sangowal village.
Trunesh Mishra a native of Haryana state and working for MKC infrastructure complained to the police that the accused stole 100 kilograms of steel roads from the site of the Sutlej bridge at Poadharra village.
IO said that a case under sections 379(theft) and 411(dishonestly receiving stolen property) of the IPC has been registered against the accused and recovered stolen roads from his possession.
The Shahkot police also arrested two thieves Honey son of Surinder Singh a resident of Aujla village and Sunil son of Gurmit Ram a resident of Mehsam Pur village under Bilga police station, said IO Sulinder Singh adding that the accused are habitual offenders.
