The Shahkot police have booked a villager and his two unidentified accomplices on the charge of murdering a co-villager.
Station House Officer (SHO) Sukhjit Singh said that the accused has been identified as Vishal son of Bindar a resident of Said Pur Jirri village who murdered his co-villager Gurpreet (18) son of Sarbann Singh.
Sarbann Singh complained to the police that his son told him on January 3 evening that he was going to pay his obeisance at a religious place and Vishal picked Gurpreet up from his house.
The Father of the deceased said in his complaint that Vishal phoned him at 11,30 PM that Gurpreet had met an accident and had been admitted to civil hospital Shahkot.
Sarbann Singh said that he along with his relatives reached Shahkot where the doctor referred Gurpreet to Jalandhar Civil Hospital from where the doctor referred his son to Civil Hospital Amritsar.
He said his son's condition became serious and he admitted Gurpreet to a private hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on January 4.
The Father of the deceased said in his complaint that Gurpreet did not die due to an accident but was assaulted by Vishal and his accomplices which caused the death of his son.
SHO said that a case under sections 302(murder) and 34 (committing a crime with common intention) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against Vishal and his two unidentified accomplices.
