Four travel agents booked for duping Nakodar village    resident    of Rs 18 Lakhs

 

NAKODAR

 The Nakodar city police have booked four travel agents for allegedly duping a Nakodar village resident of Rs.18 lakhs on the pretext of sending him abroad.

Nakodar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)  Sukh Pal Singh who is the investigating officer, in this case, said that the accused has been identified as Joginder Singh son of Gurbakash Singh  a resident of Bhainni Gillan Kamboj village in Amarit Sar, his son Jagjit Singh alias Hardeep Sher Singh, and Sahil Sethi son of Pawan Kumar Sethi a resident of ward no 4, Nur Pur Gate, Dharam Kot in Moga and Vikram son of Tilak Raj a resident of Panipat  district in Haryana 

 

DSP said that Ajay Kumar a resident of Mahun Wal village complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) that he paid Rs 18 lakhs to the accused for facilitating his migration to Canada, but he was not sent abroad nor return the money.

 

 DSP said that a case under sections 406 (breach of trust), 420 (cheating)and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC, and section 13 of the Punjab Travel Profession Regulation Act has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
