Three of family booked cheating, extortion.

 

NAKODAR

The Nakodar City police have booked three members of a family including a woman on the charges of cheating extortion and committing crime with common intention.

Station House Officer (SHO) Satwant Singh Sidhu said that the accused has been identified as Santosh wife of Raj Kumar a resident of Malrri village has her sons Pankaj Kumar and Mohit.

 

Joban a resident of Ram Dass colony, Nakodar complained to the police that he had a plot of 10 marlas in Mohala Kamal Pura Nakodar which he wanted to sell a Dera management and Pankaj Kumar acted as a middleman posing himself as a government representative.

Joban said that the accused Panaj told him that the plot would be registered without any fees and he would be responsible for the sale money.

The complainant said that when he signed a sale agreement with Dera the accused Pankaj demanded Rs 5 Lakhs from him and forced him to give him Rs 2 Lakhs and he promised to pay the rest of the money later and signed the sale deed with Dera management.

Joban said that the accused demanded three lakhs more and threatened him, and action should be taken against them.

 

SHO said that a case under sections 384(extortion) 420(cheating) and 34(committing crime with common intention) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused and assistant sub-inspector Rajinder Pal Singh is conducting further investigation.
