The 67th National School Games for hockey (U-19) for boys and girls will be held from January 6 to 11 in the district of Jalandhar.
A total of 887 players from 26 states of the country will take part in the games and matches will be played in Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium, PAP, BSF, Lyallpur Khalsa College, and Doaba Khalsa Model Senior Secondary School.
Presiding over a meeting in the district administrative complex, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Major Dr Amit Mahajan asked the officials of the various departments to ensure adequate arrangements for the accommodation, transport, deployment of medical, security, and others.
He said that these arrangements must be meticulously planned and followed for the event. Terming the event as a major boost for the budding players to showcase their skills in these games, ADC said that the district administration will ensure comprehensive arrangements for the successful games.
He also asked the education and sports departments to work in unison besides asking their higher officials to personally monitor the arrangements like stay, travel, etc for players.
