The Lohian Khas police have booked Balwindar Singh a resident of Gatti Rahime Ki village in Feroze Pur in a dowry harassment case.
Santosh Kaur daughter of Surinder Singh a resident of Mundi Chohlian village had filed a complaint to the senior superintendent of police, Jalandhar (rural), that her marriage was solemnized with Balwindar Singh on 4,12, 2020 who is serving in the Punjab police.
She said in her complaint that her husband and his family started harassing her demanding more and more dowry three days after the marriage.
Investigating Officer Avtar Singh said that a case under section 406(breach of trust) and 498-A (husband or relative of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) has been registered against the accused after an inquiry. No arrest has been made.
