The Shahkot police have booked a village resident on the charge of outraging a woman’s modesty.
Investigating Officer (IO) Jagdev Singh said that the accused has been identified as Gurdev Singh son of Jaagar Singh a resident of Sohal Jagir village.
Kulwinder Kaur wife of Darshan Singh a resident of the same village complained to the police that the accused assaulted her on November 20, tore her clothes, and touched her inappropriately.
IO said that a case under section 354 (criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty),323(voluntarily causing hurt) of the IPC has been registered against the accused. No arrest has been made and raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused.
