Local Bodies Minister Balkar Singh on Saturday announced a grant of Rs 4.5 lakh for the under-construction Maharishi Valmiki ji temple in Singh village of the district.
Addressing a public gathering in the village, Minister Balkar Singh said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was committed to the welfare of the people and every effort was being made for the development works in the villages. He said that there was no shortage of funds for the work. He said that the temple's construction would disseminate the philosophy of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji among the masses. He also asked the officials to execute the pending works on the temple site in a planned manner and ensure speedy completion.
Singh also said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had given top priority to infrastructure development in the villages lagged in terms of development during the regime of previous governments. He said that every village in the district would get modern roads, sanitation, streetlights, and playgrounds to ensure ease of life for the people.
