The Mehat Pur police have arrested a villager on the charges of breach of trust, cheating, and criminal crimination.
The investigating officer (IO) Gurnam Singh said that the accused has been identified as Sukhwinder Singh son of Niranjan Singh a resident of Parjian Khurd village.
Tajinder Kaur daughter of Rashpal Singh a resident of Char Chaman, Karnal, Haryana had complained to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jalandhar (rural) that the accused signed an agreement with her to purchase her land situated in Mehat Pur but did not register any sale deed and fraudulently sold her ancestral land by plotting it but did not pay her any amount.
IO said that a case under sections 406(breach of trust), 420(cheating), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC was registered against the accused and his accomplice Sukhwinder Singh son of Nirmal Singh a resident of Haji Pur village in Ludhiana.
