Local Bodies Minister Balkar Singh on Saturday called upon the youth especially students to contribute to nation-building and help the country emerge as a superpower in the world.
Addressing the students during a prize distribution function of Apeejay School here today, the Minister said that it was the need of the hour to make sure that country and state moves forward on the path of progress and growth for which youth must become change agents and nation builders. He said now it was the turn of the youngsters to make the country developed with their hard work, dedication, ideas and innovations.
The Minister also told them to be torch bearers in the society and work shoulder to shoulder with the government to eliminate social maladies like drug abuse, unemployment and others. He also said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann would soon open training centres in the state for imparting coaching for exams conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). He said that the youth of the state had a huge talent, and these training centers would help them to crack the exams conducted by UPSC. He said that the Schools of Eminence were being opened in each of all 117 assembly constituencies of Punjab to ensure quality education for the students. He said that the AAP government had already brought revolution in the Education sector and reforms were being launched regularly.
Earlier, the management of the Ape jay School welcomed the Chief guest on the occasion.
