The Shahkot police have arrested a Nakodar villager on a charge of possessing an illegal firearm.
The investigating officer (IO) and Talwandi Sanghera police post in charge Buta Ram said that the accused has been identified as Bhupindar Singh alias Bhinda son of Gurmukh Singh a resident of Sharinh village under Nakodar police station.
IO said a country-made pistol (katta)and 1 live cartridge of 315 bores were recovered from the possession of the accused and a case under section 25/54/59 of the Arms Act has been registered against him.
