PPCB organized awareness camp regarding Bio-Medical Waste Rules

 

 

JALANDHAR
Punjab Pollution Control Board, Jalandhar had organized an awareness camp regarding compliance with Bio-Medical Waste Rules 2016 under the Chairmanship of Dr. Krunesh Garg, Chief Environmental Engineer Jalandhar.

The awareness camp was attended by the representative of the leading hospital of Jalandhar.

Er. Sandeep Kumar, Environmental Engineer presented different aspects of Biomedical Waste Rules 2016 and best practices being adopted by the hospitals across India.

He also clarifies the quarries and doubts of different hospitals regarding the management of Biomedical waste. Software was also demonstrated to the doctors for the management of Biomedical Waste in the hospitals. The software tracks the biomedical waste from the source of its generation to the treatment facility and can be operated on Mobile.

He explained that the software is designed in compliance with the Canter Pollution Control Board guidelines and can be modified according to the needs of the hospital.

​Dr Garg appealed to the Doctors to comply with the Biomedical Waste Rules and to its make compliances better with the technology intervention to stop any pilferage of Biomedical waste.

He also said that the Punjab Pollution Control Board is always in the service of the Public to give a healthy environment to the society. He further said that a dedicated Helpdesk is being operated to facilitate and guide the Hospitals and industries for applying of consent and authorization of the Board.

In camp Xen Pooja Sharma, Xen Satyajeet Singh Attri, SDO Jangir Singh, and representatives of the leading hospital of Jalandhar were present.
