Tearful farewell to Martyr K.S.Natt

  Lt Col Karanbir Singh Natt, Sena Medal (Gallantry) was bid farewell with full Military Honours on Tuesday at Jalandhar Cantt. The Brave Heart was commissioned in the Indian Army in 1998 in the 19th Battalion, The Brigade of Guards as a Short Service Commissioned officer. In 2012, he was relieved after completing 14 years of service. He also completed his L.L.B and MBA and took up a civil job, however, he insisted on going back to the Armed Forces and joined the 160 Territorial Army unit when life took a tragic turn.

            On Nov 22, 2015, a bullet pierced his lower jaw during a fierce counter-insurgency operation in Kupwara Sector. Despite being grievously injured, he eliminated the terrorist who fired on his party and saved the lives of his three comrades with him. He was awarded the Sena Medal, Gallantry for his bravery and commitment to the profession.

 

            The mortal remains of Lt Col KS Natt, SM were consigned to flames in Deep Nagar crematorium, Jalandhar Cantonment with full military honours in the presence of many people.
