Bus under Mukh Mantri Teerth Yatra Scheme flagged off in Kartarpur

Under the Mukh Mantri Teerth Yatra Scheme, a Punjab roadways bus with 43 pilgrims on board flagged off from Dayalpur village, Kartarpur on Sunday morning.
The bus will travel from Sri Amritsar Sahib to Sri Damdama Sahib. The bus will stay at Sri Damdama Sahib tonight and will return on Monday.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab government had started this pilgrimage scheme to facilitate the people to visit the religious places free of cost on November 27 this year. During the journey, all expenses related to food and accommodation were being borne by the Punjab government. Under the scheme, the pilgrims were being ferried free of cost to Sri Amritsar Sahib, Sri Hazur Sahib, Sri Patna Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib, Mata Naina Devi Ji, Vrindavan Dham, Mata Vaishno Devi Ji, Mata Chintapurni Ji, Mata Jawala Ji, Varanasi, Sri Khatu Shyam Ji, Sri Salasar Balaji Dham, and Khwaja Ajmer Sharif Dargah.

AAP leader Harpreet Kaur said an amount of Rs 40 crore would be spent by the state government and added that the pilgrims going on this journey were also medically checked up.

Pilgrimage kits containing the necessary equipment were handed over to the pilgrims.
A pilgrim Mohinder Kaur (70) of Jallawal village thanked the government for the initiative and said that this enabled her to pay obeisance with her family without any expenditure. Taranpreet Kaur (13) and Rupinder Kaur (15) of Dyalpur village also expressed happiness over the scheme.
