The Nurmahal police have booked a journalist on the charges of using abusive language against a school principal and a retired teacher.
Station House Officer (SHO) Pankaj Kumar said that the alleged suspect has been identified as Gurdeep Singh a resident of Taggar village.
Doaba Arya Senior Secondary School principal Anil Kumar complained to the Jalandhar(rural) Senior Superintendent of Police that Gurdeep Singh is the managing director of the YouTube Channel- K9 News- and is harassing him by posting his photo on media levelling false allegations against him and damaging his personality as a principal and a teacher and threatening him.
SHO said in another complaint to the police that a retired teacher Avinash Chander a resident of Mohalla Shahkani Nurmahal told the police that Gurdeep Singh posted abusive language against him on a WhatsApp group administrated by him and damaged his image.
SHO said cases under sections 294(obscenity in public places.) and 506(criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and section 67 of the Information Technology Act have been registered against Gurdeep Singh and Nakodar city SHO Inspector Satpal Singh is conducting further investigations.
