The Nakodar Nagar council (NC) authorities have failed to take action against the Vishwakarma Charitable Trust for violating its agreement, in which the civic body had gifted land, adjoining Ambedkar Chowk, to the trust in 2000.
As per the agreement, the land could not be sublet and used only for religious and social works. But on the contrary, the trust building has been sublet and is being used for generating profits. Executive officer Ranndhir Singh said that no action has been taken in this regard. Nakodar residents said that political pressure is hindering NC authorities from taking any action against trust.
