NAKODAR
The total purchase of paddy by the state government and private agencies from farmers on Sunday crossed 7 lakhs 7,0952 quintals more than last year’s total purchase of 7 lakhs 5,0329 quintals in grain markets under the jurisdiction of the Mehat Pur market committee.
Committee secretary Tejinder Kumar said with the expectation of a bumper paddy crop, the government agencies are aiming at purchasing more paddy in the coming days and 2.66 percent more paddy arrived this year compared to the last year in grain markets.
He said that 7 lakhs 64595 quintals of purchased paddy had been lifted from grain markets.
