NAKODAR
The total purchase of paddy by the state government and private agencies from farmers on Friday crossed 12 lakhs 75623.5 quintals more than last year’s total purchase of 12 lakhs 62713 quintals in grain markets under the jurisdiction of the Nakodar market committee.
Committee secretary Rupinder Singh said with the expectation of a bumper paddy crop, the government agencies are aiming at purchasing more paddy in the coming days.
He said that 11lakhs 48311 quintals of purchased paddy had been lifted from grain markets.
